Deborah Susan, the oldest of three, was raised in a very rural farm
area of Pennsylvania, USA by extremely abusive parents. While the phrase ‘extremely abusive’ tends to indicate physical abuses; today we have come to understand the deeper levels of abuse such
as harsh verbal and neglectful parental behaviours.

Brian Thomas is a native Calgarian and is the
youngest of three boys. Raised in a very loving
home; and being the youngest in the family, Brian
chose to put his own life on hold to care for his
aging mother rather than having to place her in
the unfamiliar environment of a senior’s home
for her final days. When she was diagnosed
with terminal cancer, Brian fell into a deep
depression.
